Crane buying in this market has one gate that everything else passes through: certification. A crane that cannot be third-party certified in the UAE cannot work on a UAE site, whatever it cost and whatever condition it appears to be in.
Establish before you buy whether the machine has current load test certification, what its inspection history looks like, and whether it will pass certification in its present condition. Structural repairs required to certify are expensive and can exceed the price difference that made a cheap crane look attractive. Ask for the documentation rather than assurances.
Boom sections for straightness, distortion, denting and weld repair. Wire rope condition throughout — broken wires, corrosion, deformation, and its certification. Hook and block, including the safety latch. Winches, brakes and their holding capability. Slew ring play and the turntable. Outriggers, pads and their hydraulics. Load moment indicator and anti-two-block systems, tested and functional rather than merely present. Then the carrier: engine, transmission, axles, brakes and tyres.
Maximum capacity is a number achieved at minimum radius with maximum counterweight, and it bears little relationship to what the crane will lift at the radius and height you actually work at. Bring your real lift requirements — weight, radius, height — and we will tell you what class of machine meets them. Over-buying on headline capacity is expensive; under-buying on real capacity is dangerous.
