Every machine in this market gets moved, and lowbeds are what move them. Demand here is steady and good used units do not sit long.

The three numbers that matter

Deck height — determines loaded overall height, which determines whether you need a permit and a route survey for each movement. Lower is better and is what the trailer is for.

Axle configuration — determines payload capacity against UAE axle weight limits. Three, four and five-axle configurations each suit different weight bands, and more axles is not simply better: it adds tare weight, tyres and maintenance.

Ramp arrangement — hydraulic or mechanical, and critically the loading angle. A steep ramp will ground a low-clearance machine such as a dozer with a blade. Check the ramp against the machines you actually move.

Types

Fixed-neck, detachable gooseneck (which allows front loading and a lower deck) and extendable trailers for long loads. Detachable gooseneck trailers are more versatile and more expensive; extendables serve piling rigs and structural steel.

Inspection

Frame and neck for cracking and repair — the neck and the gooseneck connection carry concentrated stress and are where fatigue appears. Deck condition. Axles, suspension, brakes and the air system. Kingpin wear. Ramp hydraulics and their operation under load. Tyres. Landing legs. Lighting.

On a detachable gooseneck, test the detach and reconnect operation fully — the hydraulics and locking on that mechanism are what you are paying extra for and they fail in ways that are inconvenient and expensive.
